Hydroforming know-how and competence by professionals

We offer you expert advice and our extensive know-how in hydroforming technology. AWS Schäfer has decades of experience in the development and production of hydroforming machines that are eminently suitable for the production of complex geometries with a very good contouring and repeat accuracy. Internal high-pressure forming is a process in which a pipe or pipe blank is formed by pressing it into two successive engraved tools, using an active fluid medium. This process is not only suitable for forming pipe blanks, but is also used for sheet forming - a process known as external high-pressure forming.

Our broad-based know-how enables us to give you expert advice on the whole engineering process. We adapt each hydroforming machine and the associated tools exactly to your requirements, and our service spectrum includes in-depth consulting, development, system lay-out and serial production.

Our range of services extends from the provision of individual, tool-fitted hydroforming machines to turnkey production lines:

  • Feasibility studies and analyses, based on CAD, FEM
  • Prototyping
  • Component evaluations
  • Production development
  • Tool development
  • Support from development to serial production
  • Systems for internal high-pressure forming and external high-pressure forming
  • Project management

Our hydroforming machines of the hfc type are available in several variants and will be precisely adapted to your needs:

  • A locking force of 3,000 to 400,000 kN in various table sizes
  • Application profiles: pipes, extrusion profiles, sheeting

AWS Schäfer hydroforming machines are used in numerous industries across the world:

  • Automotive
  • Trucks
  • Aircraft construction
  • Sanitary industry
